Remember, in Africa, Biodiversity is matter of survival and it is critical for life at grassroots level, total green variety of life on which society depends (food, fibre, fuel et cetera) - provides ecosystem resilience for both humans and natural communities to cope with periods of stress.

  • Contribute and you get a product out of the natural resources environment that has come as a result to improve on it and regenerate it.
  • Contribute and you shall have assisted in reforestation by us encouraging communities to plant more trees.
  • Contribute and you shall have helped an injured animal somewhere recover.
  • Contribute and you shall have contributed to children inaccessible to educational facilities.
  • Contribute and you shall have assisted abused women to fight for their rights.
  • Contribute and you shall have helped initiate community environmental management in remote area somewhere.
  • Contribute and you shall have assisted the handicapped initiative income generating activities.
  • Contribute and you shall have assisted in Hiv/Aids awareness campaign in the remote areas of East Africa.
  • Contribute and you shall have created awareness on chemicals management for the villagers.
  • Contribute and you shall have cleaned the environment from wastes and pollutants.
  • Contribute and you shall have assisted rural people instal alternative enegry systems for sustainable development.

Short term programmes

Bimonthly Environment

  • Project IA - 20 slum dwellers assisted to upgrade their structures (eg. Korogocho, Kibera, Mathare in Nairobi) : US$ 25,000.
  • IB - 20 personnel trained on facilitation skills for community forestry extension ie. institutions dedicated to environmental issues: US$ 200
  • IC - 20 personnel trained on community based tourism for conservation & development in Maasai Mara, Samburu, South Nyanza, Turkana and the Mt Kenya Region : US$200.
  • ID - 20 personnel trained small scale tree and forest product enterprise development in the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources : US$ 200.
  • IE - 20 community members trained on community forestry in rural Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania : US$ 200.
  • IF - 20 personnel trained waste management in munincipal councils and urban centres such as Nakuru, Kisumu and Eldoret : US$ 200.
  • IG - 20 enterprises rained on energy efficiency and cleaner production technologies eg cottage industries in urban areas : US$ 200
  • IH - 20 women and youth assisted to realize their rights such as in women organisations and youth organisations : US$ 200.

  • II A - 50 Members in urban slums assisted to initiate income generating activities, both those in small enterpreneurship and those who want to initiate one : US$ 2,600.
  • II B - 100 The rural poor assisted to initiate income generating activities. These include the rural poor farmers and unemployed youth : US$ 10,000.
  • II C - 40 The rural and urban poor trained on small enterprise management including the urban slum dwellers and the rural population in critical environmental conditions : US$ 400.
  • II D - 5 Entrepreneurs sponsored for training on cleaner production technologies. eg. cottage industry workers : US$ 300.
  • II E - 5 Entrepreneurs sponsored for training on energy saving in enterprises eg. cottage industries in rural and urban areas : US$ 300.
