ICESPS is a non-governmental organization established to promote, encourage, safeguard, propagate, protect, restore the environment from degradation and control, delimit and enhance human dignity through delimitation of demographic effects for the achievement of industrial, economic, technological and social development. Further to enhance conflict resolution for the achievement of peace and uninterrupted development. Its main objectives therefore are as follows:-

• To identify legal, economic, social and other constriants affecting the environment and what draw backs hinder environmental protection.
• To encourage especially the implementation of policies promulgated either national, regionally or internationally for the enhancement of the stated objectives.
• To document, publicize, and disseminate the various studies undertaken.
• To provide a link between the researchers, policy makers and targeted community sectors in the various countries.
• To liaise with other organizations having similar or related objectives to those of ICESPS, at any or all levels.
• To promote and undertake quality research, consultancy and extension activities, and to develop feasible ideas and training.
• To work with, get support from, or be supported, or support universities and other institutions of higher learning in achieving the objectives stated herein.
• To look into practical ways of solving the myriad environmental and social problems currently experienced.
• To further encourage the implementation of the various conventions and treaties internationally recognized; and to further lobby for the domestication of such conventions into municipal legislations.
• To endeavour to involve the public to participate in the environmental management and protection initiatives.
• To interrelate with other research bodies and organizations to jointly try to identify solutions to the various difficulties facing humankind on the various continents (Nations) be they environmental or social.
• To solicit funds for the various research projects, consultancies and other activities as may be undertaken by the organization from willing and able donors and from the government of Kenya.
• To maintain and run an office.
